Another question that we get a lot is – what happens when I rent a vehicle on vacation? Does my coverage that I have here follow me on that rental vehicle? And the short answer is yes, it does. Your deductible will, but the long answer is while it does, you may still want to buy the coverage that the rental company provides to you. What happens in reality is if you have an accident on vacation, the rental company is going to charge the value of that vehicle to your credit card, and that may destroy your vacation. It may max out your credit card, and you would not be expecting that. So you may find that it’s just as advisable to buy the coverage from the desk of the rental agency, even though you have your own coverage.
