As you may know by now, we here at Paul & Dixon are a team who cares very strongly about helping our New Bedford community succeed and thrive. Typically, we choose a local charity that we know does good for our community and dedicate our efforts to raising money for them. This time around, however, we were devastated to hear that a beloved customer of our’s husband had suffered a stroke.
Steve Roseberry, a police officer, suffered a stroke at the beginning of his shift in December 2021. Through hard work, determination, and pure fight, Steve has regained the ability to walk with a cane and use his right arm, but tragically still lacks the ability to speak.
Luckily, Steve has been accepted into a cutting-edge treatment program at the Institute of Neurological Recovery in Florida. This treatment will help to reduce the pain he experiences daily. It will also improve his movement and help to recover his speech. These treatments are quite revolutionary- but come with a hefty price: $16,000.
While Steve’s family has raised well over half the money for the treatment, they still need much support to pay for it.
